Hi! I’m aLVIN,

A Christian mental health advocate & blogger

I am a 52-year-old Christian that has always believed in Christ. At the beginning of the COVID Pandemic, the anxiety of isolation began setting in. I didn’t know whom I could turn to nor the people around me whom I could trust to not judge the severity of my issue. About this time, I began learning what it meant to not just believe in Jesus Christ but also put all of my trust and faith in the Lord. Though it would be another eight months that at the risk of losing everything, putting 100% trust, faith, and belief in Christ, gave me the courage and strength to speak up and seek help.

My name is Alvin. I have a history of depression with three suicide attempts. While the reason those who fall into a state of depression and/or attempt suicide, comes from a wide spectrum of today’s society. It can hit the rich and the poor. The athletic and non-athletic. As well as the young and the old of every nationality across the globe. One thing for certain is that some of us are afraid to speak up and seek help, out of fear because of how we would be perceived. What others may think or not think, nobody should be afraid to say when we need help. No matter how big or how small we feel the issue may be.

God never intended for man to be perfect, yet many of us try or feel that we must be due to how we are judged when we fail. Nor did God intend for us to carry our burdens with us from one day to
the next. By turning to and reading the scriptures during the period of forced isolation, I began reading about these great people throughout the worlds histories. Their flaws, triumphs, and all their differences of each other. One thing that each person had in common was how, when each were scared, at their lowest or ready to give up. Every one of them would turn their 100% Trust, Faith and Belief over to God. They would (though not always immediately) gain/regain their strength and have new courage to keep going.

While most of my writings is faith based and how turning to the scriptures of the bible has helped me. This blog site is not about converting or committing yourself to God. My hope is, however,
that my writings and stories will help you seek the one that you can trust to help yourself gain the courage and strength to seek the help you need without the fear of being judged.

Through the Power of One – I believe in the Power of One! The Power and Strength the God alone has! The Power and Strength that One person Can make a Positive Difference upon another!
